    Nav Crashing errors

    Hello Everyone,

I have a user experiencing an issue where minimizing the NAV window causes the application to crash when trying to restore it.

Any assistance is appreciated. Below are the error logs I found in the Event Manager:

    Solution Steps:

    1. Check System Requirements:
Ensure that the user's system meets the minimum requirements for NAV. Sometimes, insufficient resources can cause the application to crash.

    2. Update NAV:
Make sure you are running the latest version of NAV. Updates often contain bug fixes and performance improvements that can resolve such issues.

    3. Graphics Drivers:
Update the graphics drivers on the user’s system. Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause rendering issues when minimizing and maximizing applications.

    4. Check for Add-Ins:
Disable any add-ins or customizations in NAV. Add-ins might not handle window state changes properly and can lead to crashes.

    5. Event Log Analysis:
Review the error logs in detail. Look for any specific error codes or messages that could indicate what is causing the crash. Here’s a guide on how to interpret common Event Viewer errors:

      • Navigate to Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application
      • Look for errors related to NAV
      • Note the details such as the Event ID and Source
    6. Reset NAV Preferences:
Try resetting the user-specific settings in NAV. Sometimes, corrupted preferences can cause instability:

      • Locate the settings/configuration file for NAV
      • Rename or delete the file to reset settings
    7. User Profile:
Test with a different user profile. Sometimes, the issue can be user-specific due to corrupted profile settings.

    8. Compatibility Mode:
      Run NAV in compatibility mode:

      • Right-click on the NAV shortcut
      • Select Properties > Compatibility tab
      • Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select an older version of Windows
    9. Reinstallation:
As a last resort, uninstall and then reinstall NAV. This can resolve issues related to corrupted installation files.

If the problem persists after these steps, please share the specific error logs for further analysis.

    Nav Crashing errors
    Hello ZHU,

    Thank you for your response.

I don't think it may be a license issue as the user is already logged into NAV and able to work, the issue occurs when the window is minimized and the application will crash and shut itself down.

I'm not sure, the error message below looks like a license issue. Exceeded maximum number of users that may access NAV.
"2 Active Sessions is over 1 Total Sessions"

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.
    ZHU
