MS CRM 2011 report error while run it from CRM

Posted on by

Hi,

I am facing below error in one of our deployment while running a report from MS CRM 2011:

"An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessignAborted) cannot create a connection to data source 'CRM' (rsErrorOpeningConnection) Immediate caller NT AUOTHORITY/SYSTEM has insufficient privilege to run the report as user."

Database server & report server are on the different and reporting service is running with local system.

Can anyone help me in this. ?

Thanks & Regards,

Neelam

    Hi,
it could be a few different causes. is this a fresh deployment? did you run some rollup upgrade?
few ways I fixed similar problem

scenario 1: SQL server reboot\recycle alone. you may need to either restart the application server or recycle the async and other services related to the CRM application server

scenario 2: changes on the account that runs CRM application server IIS application pool.

scenario 3: problem with crm ssrs adapter, need to be reinstalled\upgraded with proper rollup

and many others, check this list:

Hi Neelam!  you need to give that user or a group a privilege to run report

    Try to do this:

    1. Open localhost/reports

    2. Go to properties tab (SSRS 2008)

    3. Security->New Role Assignment

    4. Add DOMAIN/USERNAME or DOMAIN/USERGROUP

    5. Check Report builder

    Hi Neelam,

Please verify that Reporting Services Configuration Manager -> Execution Account user is added to the below groups.

    -PrivReportingGroup

    -ReportingGroup

    -SqlAccessGroup

    -PrivUserGroup

    Regards,

    Hi Neelam,

I would suggest to add CRM and SQL Server in PrivUserGroup and PrivReportingGroup and then try to run reports. If its still fails then run same report from Report Server and let me know the exact error.
