Share filtered page to other BC users

Hello Everyone!

Does any one know how we can share filtered pages to other BC users?
I have a client who is going to switch to BC soon. They like BC i.e., good. However, project leader of the client concerns that there are common needs to search the data across the multiple branches. Instead of asking each member of each branch to setup their own filtered pages, , he wants us to provide filtered page per branch so that each BC user does not have to create filtered by their own branch from scratch and they can avoid discrepancies between BC users.

For example, branch A has 10 BC users and branch A users want to see open sales order/open purchase order for only branch A. On the other side, branch B has 6 users, branch C has 15 users. Branch B and Branch C BC users have same needs to see open PO/SO for only branch B or Branch C.

Instead of asking all  BC users to setup filter SO list, PO list, relevant pages, he wants us to implement filtered SO list, PO list per branch. As we know, filter, personalisation is only for the BC user so that others cannot see it.  Without development, is there any workaround?

    Hello,

You can solve this without development by using Saved Views with the “Shared” option, which lets you create pre-filtered list views (for example, Sales Orders filtered by Location Code = Branch A) and make them available to all users, so each branch can simply select their predefined view instead of creating filters themselves; this ensures consistency, saves time, and standardizes how users see branch-specific data, and it works for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, and other list pages using standard Business Central functionality.

    Hello,

you could save your views within a profile/role to make it available to all users that have the particular profile/role assigned.

Just go to the particular profile/role and start customizing it. Navigate to the particular list page and create the view there. It will be available to all the users with this specific profile/role.

Hello , in Business Central, personalized views and filters are user-specific, so you can’t share them system-wide without custom development. However, there’s a simple and practical workaround. Just open the page (for example, Sales Orders), apply the branch-specific filters like the Location Code, then click “Copy link” from the top-right menu. Share that URL with the relevant users, and when they open it, the filtered view will load automatically for them quick, clean, and no development needed. Hope this helps you!

    Hi,

    There are two options available.

1 - Filtering pages through Customize Roles option - This is no code option available in Business Central. You need to find Profile (Roles) page. This page list down all the roles for your BC users. You can create multiple roles for e.g. User Branch A, User Branch B. In these different Roles, you can choose the option of Customize Pages. It will open a new window and allow you to customize pages as you want like add fields, hide fields, save views, remove actions and so on.
These saved Roles can be assigned to multiple users from User Settings page and for all those users, those saved views will be applicable and they will be able to use them. Here are some links to help you configure it - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/ui-personalization-manage

2 - Use Security Filter on Table Data - This is through permission set, where you can use Security filter option to filter the data based on Branch or Responsibility centre or basically any field that is available on various tables.
You can learn more about it here -

Let me know if you need any more help.

    Regards,
    Dhiren.
