Copying options from leads to accounts.

Standard fields for State/Province in Leads/Accounts allow any line of text. I decided to add a dropdown to select from states. My problem arises when I qualify a lead to an account. I created a field dropdown for states for leads, then another similar one for accounts. However, when I qualify a lead to an account, the option selected does not carry over. How do I achieve this?

    Hi,

In customization of Lead click 1:N Relationships, now you can choose account_originating_lead. In there ckick in mappings and select field name from the source entity and the target field name in the target entity.

    Hi Pedro,

A couple recommendations for your design.  First of all, I highly recommend using the a global option set for the state picklist rather than a single option set.   This way you only have to update and maintain one list no matter how many places it appears.  Remember, the state field appears not just once on the lead and on the account, but in at least 12 other places in CRM.  Second, you should definitely use javascript to take the state/province selected from the picklist and fill in the out-of-the-box state field with it.  This is the state field that syncs to Outlook.
