Siebel Developer for many years and what type of training/certification to move into Dynamics CRM?

Posted on by

As per the title above, I would like to ask what type of training and certification is required to be a developer for Dynamics CRM? I had been doing Siebel CRM for many years. I would like to reskill myself to move into Dynamics.

First of all subscribe a trial instance of MS Dynamics 365.

Browse it and look what things are same in Seibel and Dynamics 365.

    Like Sales, Service Marketing etc.

If you are technical then go for technical certificates and if functional then go for functional certificate.

You can also take help from CRM SDK for learning.

The role based certifications are still pretty new, and we are still waiting for the expert role certification for Dynamics.

Previously in earlier versions of CRM, there used to be a certification for Extending Microsoft Dynamics, but that exam is retired:

There is also a Configuration and Customization exam, which is scheduled for retirement and being replaced with the role based exams I mentioed.

    Hope this helps.

Take a look at the following link:

    www.microsoft.com/.../browse-all-certifications.aspx

This contains both the certifications for Dynamics 365 CE (Customer Engagement) and Finance and Operations.

You should start with the Certified Dynamics 365 Fundamentals, Dynamics 365 for Sales and Dynamics 365 for Customer Service.

After those 3, take a look at Field Service and Marketing.

I would also recommend learning PowerApps and Flow, which are becoming the development platform for Dynamics 365 (and so much more).

    Hope this helps.
