Hi, using UCI while using a Quick Create form for Appointment we cannot use the required attendees field because it always displays the message "Error loading control". The error detail is as follows:

Custom Control with Id: MscrmControls.FieldControls.SimpleLookupControl failed to render; Message: this._lookupParameter.getTargetEntityNames is not a function

* We are using Dynamics 365 OnPremise  9.0.13.11

* The problem occurs with any Internet Browser

* There are no customizations behind the field

I would appreciate any advise.

Thanks.

    Hi Xavier,

I didn't even expect the early version of the Unified Interface that is available on Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement on-premise v9.0 to support Quick Create for appointments.
I advise that you raise a Support Request to help you determine if it's by design or not.

Given that the latest on-premise release doesn't have a very mature version of the Unified Interface, is there a particular reason you want to use it?

Thanks Henry for the advise. We use OnPremise versions for development and testing. I found the problem is not only related to the quick create form but with the regular appointment form, too(under UCI).

I understand what you mentioned regarding the early UCI version available for OnPremise but the feature that is not working is a basic one for an appointment; it doesn't make sense to me that nobody in Microsoft have tested this in advance.

    Hi Xavier,

    Thank you for the feedback.

If would recommend to develop and test online too, otherwise you will be missing out on features that are exclusively available online. Also, online also includes the latest bug fixes.

    Hello,

    I have the same bug.

For Microsoft the classic web version is dead. All communications are about UCI.

But you can not tell to your customers to switch to the online version because you don't care about correcting bugs.

The on-premise version is sold by Microsoft as a final product, not as a beta product.

If the product is not mature don't sell it.

Moreover where is the sharing button on the on-premise UCI ?

    Best regards

I understand your point, but as long as there isn’t a new version of on-premise that will bring the latest of Unified Interface to on-premise customers, the current v9.0 will have parity gaps.

This is because the version of Unified Interface that shipped with v9.0 was the first version of it, with its limitations, and maybe early bugs.

In terms of parity gaps, each online Release Wave closes a lot of them and brings additional improvements to it.
If you encounter bugs on-premise, please work with support.

The last time I worked with the support I waited 4 months before getting a patch to complete the upgrade from v8 to v9.

What is the roadmap for the on-premise?

For the online it is clear, réalise wave 1 for 365 but on-premises client need vision.

The release cycle for on-premise versions is slower than on the cloud by nature.

At this time there isn't a publicly documented roadmap for on-premise, and I'll try to update this thread as soon as there is one.

On a side note, Microsoft has recently opened up its tooling to help customers migrate on-premise organizations to online (basically a lift-and-shift from the SQL database backup). Let me know if you could be interested.

Our ERP communicate with the CRM, ERP & CRM are plugged together.

We have linked server and a lot of store procedures that query (in SQL) the CRM.

So switching to the online version will break our ERP.

Moreover querying the CRM with the SDK is sloooowwwwww vs direct SQL.

    Hi Saranya,

    Are you on-premise or online?

Unified Interface on Dynamics 365 9.0 on-premise is very limited, especially for production scenarios.

Have you opened a support request for this?

    Henry
