Is there a way to automatically apply sales line discounts to newly created items based on the Customer Discount Group in Business Central? If yes, could you please provide the setup steps or a blog/resource where I can review the process and test it?

Hello,

You can automatically apply sales line discounts in Business Central by setting up Customer Discount Groups and linking them to customers, then defining Sales Line Discounts for those groups based on items or item discount groups. For new items, assign them to an appropriate Item Discount Group (or create a universal group like ALL_ITEMS) so the discount rules apply without manual intervention.

When a sales order is created, Business Central checks the customer’s discount group and the item’s group, and applies the matching discount percentage automatically.

Hello,

Yes, just set a Customer Discount Group on the customer and create Sales Line Discounts for that group. When you add a new item to a sales order, the discount is applied automatically as long as the item (or its item discount group) matches the discount setup.

1. Customer → set Customer Discount Group

2. (Optional) Item → set Item Discount Group

3. Search Sales Line Discounts → define discount for that group

4. Create a sales order → discount applies automatically
