Stuck in batch recovery

Posted on by 105

In "Receivable Batches" I have a batch with a status "Journal Printing Interrupted".  When I select the batch I get a window that says I can't edit the batch, use the batch recovery window.

When I go to the batch recovery window it has the same status " "Journal Printing Interrupted".  When I select the batch and choose continue, it prints and keeps looping me in the error message to use the batch failed to complete printing, use the batch recovery window to complete the posting process.

Any idea how to fix this?

Typically you would login to SQL studio to run the scripts.    It is good practice to run a backup of the databases before you run any SQL script in case something goes wrong.

This may be a dumb question, but where do I go to enter those "delete" statements?

With all the users logged out of GP, run the following statements

    DELETE DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY
    DELETE DYNAMICS..SY00800
    DELETE DYNAMICS..SY00801
    DELETE
    TEMPDB..DEX_LOCK
    DELETE
    TEMPDB..DEX_SESSION

    UPDATE SY00500 SET MKDTOPST=0, BCHSTTUS=0 WHERE BACHNUMB='XXX'

This will get your batch released, and can be accessed on the originating batch window. Before you post on the batch level, go to the transactions included within the batch and check if there is any improper distribution. Then, go and post the batch back.

Does this happen with all the batches, or this one specifically ?

If it happens with this one specifically, then you could try to delete the batch and include a new batch for the transactions, and try to post. Usually "Journal Printing Interrupted" status of the batch is caused by any "Posting Interruption" caused during the posting process, which will take the batch to the batch recovery window, in order to prevent any data to post incorrectly.

    Hope this helps
