i tried the feature Product Bundles lately. I used a BOM where i have 4 physical products and 1 service Item. What I found out is, that you can not post the packing slip with the "Deliver now" quantity after picking and packing all pyhsical-Items with Warehouse Management and closing the container in the packing station.
The system gives me the following error:
if i remove the service item from the BOM, the packing slip is posted. Is there any way to do that with the service item?
Good morning, afternoon, or evening - depending on your location :) Hope you are well today! This issue seems to stem from how service items are handled differently compared to physical items in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, particularly when using Warehouse Management processes. Here are some potential solutions and workarounds:
Explode BOM Lines: You can use the "Explode BOM" functionality to separate the service item from the physical items in the sales order. This allows you to process the physical items through Warehouse Management while handling the service item separately. However, this might affect the pricing and bundling logic.
Auto-Report as Finished: Mark the BOM item as "Auto-Report as Finished" in the Released Products settings. This option automatically generates a BOM journal during the packing slip posting process. However, it bypasses the picking process, so detailed configuration is required to ensure proper inventory tracking.
Separate Sales Order Lines: Create a separate sales order line for the service item instead of including it in the BOM. This way, the physical items can be processed through Warehouse Management, and the service item can be invoiced separately.
Customizations: If none of the standard options work, consider discussing with your technical team or partner about customizing the system to allow packing slip posting with service items in the BOM.
Hope this helps :)
