Hide the new button which comes in the look up using supported code in Dynamics 365 Version 1612(8.2.2.112)(DB 8.2.2.112) on-premise

Posted on by

Hi All,

I am using Dynamics 365 Version 1612(8.2.2.112)(DB 8.2.2.112) on-premise

I have a requirement as below:

When the user will click the opportunity lookup, he/she should be able to select any one of the available opportunity. But the new button should not appear there.

Challenge is that, the user has opportunity creation privilege, we should only restrict him creating the new opportunity from the lookup.

Any input or suggestion with sample code is most welcome.

Thanks in advance

Amit Kumar Rath

    Hi,

No supported way other then removing create privilege as suggest, if you are ok with unsuppored way (which is not recommended) you can try option suggested here: community.dynamics.com/.../143994

    Hi Amit,

The only supported way of doing that is to remove privileges to create records of type referenced in lookup. I would not suggest you to use unsupported approaches.

    Hi Amit,

This can be done only using security role , just to assign a security role to the user  which does not have any create permission of opportunity entity.
