I am new to dynamic crm. My client have one dynamic crm installation in which I have made some custom changes in some forms like lead, opportunity etc. I have added custom text-boxes, dropdown list with static options. Currently he is using this and have data. As second phase, he asked to me make more custom changes in another fresh crm installation. Then I exported solution from old crm and imported to new. Now I have to move every data including option set data, campaign, lead etc. Please suggest me a good and easy method to migrate data.

I am not sure why you moved the solution from the old to the new system, instead of moving the solution from the new (development) system to the old (production) system. You are creating a lot of work for yourself my migrating the data, but here is the Data Import section in the CRM Customer Center: rc.crm.dynamics.com/.../importingdata.aspx

Another option is to use Instance adapter to sync data between multiple instances. It's available for free from Microsoft.

    You can download it here:

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    Check here for more information:

Thank you. We had to configure IFD and outlook without disturbing current CRM, so we did a new installation, really we thought data transfer is an easy job.

    Hello Summit,

I just restored old db to new. But data is not populating, do we need to keep same organization name to get this work?

    Regards,

    Dileep Paul

    Hi..

No there is no need to keep the same organization name. Check you are accessing the correct CRM organization.

First delete the Organization from Deployment manager >> Restore DB >> again create the new organization

    thanks !
