Importing products in Microsoft Dynamics 365 from Excel

I have added to the view all the required fields of the Products card (Name, Article, Unit of measure, Default unit, Number of decimal places).

I have tried to download the template / export products / open the list of products in online Excel and add products there.

In all cases, I just add a line with the same parameters as in existing products (I only change the values of the Name column and the Article column).

Saving / importing.
As a result, the error appears:

The default unit is not included in the specified unit of measure.

Given that the "Unit of measure by default" is filled with values that are in the system and are successfully indicated on existing products.

Have anybody ideas to solve it?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi

There is a mismatch between the Unit Group and the Default Unit in the imported record.

You need to have the right Unit Group data as well (do not leave it for Default value).

Add one more column with the Unit Group data.

Use the matching Unit Group (already  present in CRM) for the Default Unit you are using in the record.

I was trying different options but I getting import error/warning...

    Some words about whole process:

    1. First of all , I have downloaded an excel template (for product).

    2. I filled all columns (all required and default price list too). Unit Group - pcs Unit Group / Default Unit - pcs

    3. After import I was getting an error - "The unit does not exist in the specified unit schedule."

    4. Imported row - ,,,TestProduct,AA-444,,,,,,,,pcs Unit Group,pcs,3,defpricelist1,,,,,,,,,,

This article might give you the right pointer:

    community.dynamics.com/.../tip-while-migrating-products-to-microsoft-dynamics-crm

=> you need to make sure that the Units and Unit Groups names has to be unique in CRM i.e., Units in different Unit Groups cannot have same name

RE: Importing products in Microsoft Dynamics 365 from Excel

We export products that already are in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Then we just change the names of products (unit group and units  leave without changing, so they are exactly in that bundle as in CRM were). We import products with changed names. We get the error.
