XRMToolbox "Data Transporter"

I need to migrate reference data -- with relationships intact -- from three custom entities fromm one environment to another.  I'm trying to use the Data Transporter utility in XRM Toolbox, but when clicking the Help it takes me to an invalid github page.  Even searching GitHub and I can't find reference material.

I need to know whether this tool will maintain the relationships between the entity records.  If not, is there another utility which will do this for me?

Thank you!

    Hi

You can try Configuration Data Migration Tool available in SDK. It will add the related entities as well.

Gopalan ... we need the records to have the same GUIDs across environments.  Do I understand correctly that this tool will accomplish that?

I have read where it states that the Configuration Migration Utility preserves GUIDs and relationships, but my team is not seeing this functionality.  This is the utility that comes with the SDK, correct?

This would keep the GUIDs of the source and create the records with the same GUIDs in the Target.

    In SDK folder

    ..\Dynamics 365 SDK\Tools\ConfigurationMigration

So when we look under that folder we only see a tool named Data Migration Utility.  Is that the same thing?  The folder name does not match the name of the executable under it.

That's the correct thing. JUST GO AND RUN IT! :p

=>Connect to the source CRM Org, configure the Data Definition

=>Export data based on the Data Definition (a .data file if I am not wrong)

=>Connect to the target CRM Org, import the data (same GUID will be retained)

I'm with you, Melvin.  This activity is not under my area of responsibility in our organization, so I am trying to gather information for my team.

The other challenge is that we have 5 entities from which to migrate data.  Two of the 5 are N:N.  I noticed the N:N migration tool in XRMToolbox, but am not sure how it works.  Does one migrate the records first then use this tool to patch up the relationships?

No need to worry about that, because the tool are designed in a way that it will run in multiple phases, such as import the data first, then proceed with the N:N mappings.
