Hi,

I'd like to know the functionality of the Alternative Item field in the Sell tab:

If I insert an item in that field and i leave the When to use field populated with Never, are there any implications? Or is the product included in the item number simply informative? I would need a field just to identify that a product has an alternative, but it has to be just information with no practical implications

Hi user9,

When you set an alternative item and leave the field Where to use with the setting 'Never', in that case it is for information purposes only. It will then not replace the item automatically during data entry on orders.
