Sorry, I don't know much about using SL, but batch numbers are defaulting to 10 digits in a newly created company. Is there a global option to change this to 6? Thanks.

This is just a guess but... GL setup
"In the Batch Information area, type the starting batch number in Last Batch Number. For example, if you type 000000, the first batch number that the software assigns is 000001."
so maybe you have 0000000123 and you could replace it with 000123
When I try this, the change doesn't keep. If I go into customize mode and change it, it seems to work, but I don't know if that's the way to go. All the other Companies just have a 6 digit length and the screens have not been customized. This is probably a simple fix, I just don't understand SL enough from this standpoint. Thanks.
In GL Setup, in Customize mode - All Users, check F4 in Batch Number filed. If it is 000000000, you can amend it to 00000, but you may have to make similar changes in Journal transactions and report fields, everything screen which has a batch number field.
