Make financial dimensions un-editable on the stock journals

Hi,

I want to make the financial dimension un-editable for the users on all the stock journals. I want to do this by security roles and not customization. How can i achieve this?

Hi Sainyam,

Have you already found an answer to your question? In case you want to make dimensions read-only using security, that can be done, but you would need to check the design of the form if the dimension control is enabled for manual permissions. If not, you would need to implement field-level permissions on the DefaultDimension field of the inventory journal lines.

There is no option to secure individual dimensions using the security framework. In case you have that requirement, you should go for a customization.

There is not any standard functionality for that unless you use derived dimensions.

@guyUK - I am sorry. What i meant was that i wanted to achieve this by security roles and not customization.Also, is it possible if i make only one dimension read only for example Department and rest all dimensions editable?

Hi

I'm not sure I follow..... to me, code and customisation are the same thing.

If it were me, I would be thinking whether this requirement can be met using security.
