I’m not so knowledgeable with retail system processing but I’d assume the pos uses a customer record which has a customer (even if it’s the same for all transactions) posting group assigned to it - which is the AR account.

    Hello,

When you say POS Sales Transaction, are you using an APP (ISV) solution like LS Retail, Insight Works POS, etc..? Each of these solution will record a transaction against a POS customer. If not, are you trying to create a way to record a POS transaction and have them post into the Customer Ledger Entry? If yes, you can create a POS Customer, have done this in the past, called POS Customer, and use this Customer No. and post Sales Invoices against it. You can update actual addresses if you want but I am not sure you want that information.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi,

We are using LS Retail. And the transactions will fall as AR from Customers. We made a Tender Type for AR that will ask for the customer's name before each transactions, will this automatically create a customer card for new customer? And will it be entered automatically to existing customer card?

    Hello,

If you setup a Tender Type = AR and this creates a Receivable vs. collect an actual physical payment, this will record the entry in AR on the Customer Ledger Entries. Please make sure the Payment Type setup is correct for posting accounts. See Tender Type setup below:
