How to use the Negative Sign Identifier in Data Exchange Definitions

Hello Everyone,

I am attempting to utilize the /Negative Sign Identifier/ in Data Exchange Definitions to upload amounts with negative signs. However, I am facing difficulties in uploading amounts with a negative sign. Could someone kindly explain how to use this feature? For your convenience, please refer to the column details below.

With the data you are presenting I do not think you can use this feature because your data does not contain any negative sign identifier.

So if you are importing to a journal I think you will have to import the debit column into debet amount and credit column into credit amount.

Or you will have to use some kind of custom coded formatting.

Based on your previous answer, I've attempted to do the same. However, I'm still unclear about what value I should input for the 'Negative Sign Identifier' in order to import positive amounts with a negative (credit) symbol. I am trying to import the 'CR' column as a negative value.

That is the issue with your data.

You do not have a negative sign identifier in your data so you can not enter anything.

You need another approach to import your data. You will have to do some customization in order to be able to import your credit amount as negative values.
