My company creates records in QuoteWerks, and when a record is created, an Opportunity record gets created as well. I want to automatically have the "Opportunity Scope" option set field get set to "Product" when the record comes from QuoteWerks to CRM. However, I do not want to use a background workflow, as we do not want the "Modified By" field to show the workflow owner's name. I also cannot seem to use a real time workflow, because it causes an error in QW, which I believe is happening because the real-time workflow is running at the same time that the QuoteWerks record is passing fields into CRM. Given these restrictions, what is my best option for automatically setting the Opportunity Scope field to "Product" if the record comes from QuoteWerks? Do I need to create a web resource? Is it possible to create a business rule that will update the field without actually opening the form? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
