We are creating a new GP database and I will need to convert Open AR and Open AP from Sage. Is there a best practice method on doing this?
Thanks,

This is actually part of every implementation. In each project, we request the opening balances on a specific formatted template including the open AR and AP. I mostly import them through excel-based macro generator to record Sales invoices/credit memos on customers as well as invoices and credit memos on vendors.
The post through GL is unchecked on the RM, PM Setup level so that these transactions will not affect General Ledger. Once the trial balance is imported n the general ledger level, they should tie.
Yes, using Integration Manager in GP, import all open AR & AP transactions. You can either allow these transactions to post THROUGH the GL to build your AR and AP account balances, or post them TO the GL and create you AR and AP account balances via journal entry.
