Change date format on an XML Word report

Hello everyone, 

I'm working with a PO report in word with the XML mapping. Everything it is working fine except for the date format in the lines.

I want to change the format for DD/MM/YYYY

I've tried everything but nothing seems to work. Creating an extension to do it seems a bit excessive

    Can you try this as per below? Sorry I have not tried this yet.

    {{DueDate} \@ MM-dd-yyyy}

    I tried but it didn't work. The field comes up empty.
