Hi,

I want to Import Historical Exchange Rates in Business Central from Dynamics GP.

From GP Server I have grabbed Rates Table but I can see 3 different Rate Identifiers: Historical,Month End , Average Rates.

e.g

MR-BRL-US-AVG   Z-US$           01-01-2009 1.9191228
MR-BRL-US-HIST  Z-US$           01-01-2009 2.1364553
MR-BRL-US-ME    Z-US$           01-01-2009 1.7511295

exactly which one I need to Import in Currency Exchange Rate Table of Business Central?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

If you check the multicurrency transaction tables this should help you identify which one has been used. The MC020102 is the Multicurrency Receivables Transactions table and the MC020103 is the Multicurrency Payables Transactions table. If you check the EXGTBLID column it will show you the multicurrency rate table has been used.

Although not very common its worth noting that in GP you can have more than one exchange table per currency, therefore you can have more than more rate for a single currency. This is achieved using rate types and exchange tables.

    Thanks

    Gavin

    Hi Gavin,

There are no Receivables/Payables. We got only G/L Entries

I am setting up Currency Rates only for Additional Reporting Currency

    Hi,

If its just got GL entries in GP then you could query the "AccountTransactions" SQL view to see what Exchange Table ID has been used and therefore which rate was used. (this view is just a UNION of GL10000, GL20000, GL30000)

    Thanks

    Hi Gavin,

I have checked these tables, Exchange Table ID shows empty in all of them, probably thats because in GP they enter all transactions in respective Local Currencies.

I have been informed that in GP they wanted to convert Local currency in USD, only as a purpose of Additional Reporting Currency and not part of transactions.  But I am not aware of how its done in GP. And I wish to replicate the same in Business Central

    Please advise, Thanks in advance
