Hi There,

When I go to CARDS>MANUFACTURING>BILL OF MATERIAL & I want to create a new Config BOM (New Project) using the previous project BOM,so I will go to copy BOM to copy the pervious config BOM to the new config BOM but the problem is when I go and insert the BOM for the new Project, everything has copied completely but I can't delete or modify any items in there which doesn't have any value for me cause for the new Config BOM,I need to delete and add some items to that!!!Any suggestion?

    Removing copied component requirements

Before you save a new bill of materials you’ve created in the BOM Copy window, you can remove any components that aren’t needed. Use the BOM Copy window to complete this procedure

The following procedure assumes that you’ve copied component requirements into a new bill of materials using the BOM Copy window, but that you haven’t saved the new bill of materials yet. If you have saved the new bill of materials, you must use the Bill of Materials Entry window to remove components.

    To remove copied component requirements:

In the lower scrolling window of the BOM Copy window, mark the component requirement to remove from the new bill of materials.

    Choose Remove.

Mark and remove any additional components.

Choose Save and close the window.

Deleting a component from a bill of materials for more information about that procedure.

Deleting a component from a bill of materials

Use the Bill of Materials Entry window to delete a component from an existing bill of materials.

To delete a component from a bill of materials:

    1. Open the Bill of Materials Entry window.
(Manufacturing >> Cards >> Bill of Materials)
    2. Enter or select the item with the bill of materials to remove components from. The manufacturing bill of materials will be displayed by default, but you can select any other bill of materials for the selected item.
    3. Select the BOM Type—Engineering, Archived, Configured, or Super. If you select Archived or Configured, enter or select the appropriate BOM Name.
    4. In the tree view, mark the component to delete.
    5. Click the remove item from BOM button. The button has a red minus sign on it.
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to delete all unneeded components.
    7. Choose Save and close the window.

RE: Copy BOM to a new BOM,can't delete or modify items for a new BOM(Using GP 9.0)

There is just a problem which takes time to do it for all sub BOMs because Each BOM has some sub BOMs with their own items and its takes time to go through each sub bom and copy each sub BOM to another Project to delete the items in there.I want to copy the root BOM to a new project and when I go to Bill of material and insert that BOM for the new PROJECT,I could see the whole BOM with different sub BOMs and could modify everything & the items in there but when I copy the Root BOM,everything will be copied to a new project but I can't modify and delete any items in there which is so weird!!!what do you suggest?
