Physical inventory order does not calculate positive or negative (base) quantity

Hello There

When we close a recording for a physical inventory order, the order does not calculate positive and/or negative (base) quantity in-spite of there is a real difference between recorded quantity on the recording and expected quantity on the order. All lines within this order has "On Rec.-Lines" checked. It means that the order is aware of relevant lines on a recording details. We have made sure that the Location and Base unit of measure match between items in the order and in the recording. I am not sure what else needs to be looked at to fix this issue. If you are aware of certain conditions need to be matched to work this properly, then please let me know.

I appreciate any help!

Thanks and have a good day!

Okay. Neve mind!! When I update the status of the order to "finished" it is able to show the values. I thought that it should be able to update the positive and negative quantity when a relevant ordering sheet is finished; the status of the order may not be a matter of concern while calculating adjustments into quantities.

Anyways.. now I know. Thanks again for your help and  considerations

RE: Physical inventory order does not calculate positive or negative (base) quantity

Thank you for your time and suggestions. We are exactly following the process you have described, however, the scenario is a bit different because we don't have bins and there are no bin level updates applied anywhere.

It means that if quantity is updated of any item on any recording sheet, it should translate into positive or negative adjustments into the relevant order. We like to record either loss or increase in quantity of items at location level. Therefore, when counter updates a recording sheet and provides a different quantity of any item, the order attached to this recording should show positive or negative quantity when recording status is changed to "finished".

    Please see below.

As you may see that quantity is updated to 100 from 52. But there is no change into Pos. Qty. (base) when we finish the recording.

Here is relevant recording which was used to update quantity.

RE: Physical inventory order does not calculate positive or negative (base) quantity

    Hi

I have shared a scenario, hope it is helpful

created a new item 70063, FIFO method, unit cost 10

I posted qty 2 using item journal and SILVER location (BIN)

    Qty 1 on S-01-0001 unit cost 10

    Qty 1 on S-01-0002 unit cost 20

I have then 2 in stock, on 2 different bin

I am using physical inventory order and calculate line with SILVER location and item 70063

I am creating a new recording

    • In fact, in stock, the real situation found by counters is that I have qty 2 in bin S-01-0001, and nothing in bin S-01-0002.

So I am declaring 2 in S-01-0001 and 0 in S-01-0002. (meaning moving qty from S-01-0002 to S-01-0001)

I am finishing my new recording

Going back to my physical inventory order I am posting it (will post a negative adjustment and a positive one)

    Checking my ILE now:
