Migrate to Commerce Scale Unit Core

Hello,
we recieved an e-mail notification from Microsoft /Migrate to Commerce Scale Unit Core by Oct 2023/.
There are some links provided within the e-mail, but it's not that straightforward

For example:
Step 2:
Uninstall the Store Commerce app, Hardware Station, and Cloud Scale Unit - Self-hosted that were installed by using the legacy installers. Then install the required application by using the new sealed installers.

How do I uninstall /Store Commerce app, Hardware Station, and Cloud Scale Unit - Self-hosted/?
Should I do it on my development machine?
How does it this change / migration goes then to the Prod system?

We are using Commerce, but we have not done any code changes in RetailSDK. Do we still have to do this migration?
Does it mean that after Oct 2023, the VMs deployed from LCS will already have the new CommerceSDK or it still will be on old legacy RetailSDK?

If anybody has a more descriptive / step by step process how to migrate it, would be appreciated.
Or maybe a Video of how to do it?

Thanks and regards

If you haven't done any customizations on the retail part, no need to do migrate CSU core.

On the POS front, if you are using Modern POS you need to switch to Store Commerce.

You can watch the following tech talks for a good understanding. Some new features were announced on one of the commerce webinars, where you can do the migration where the store Commerce App installer will take care of the installation, activation (device token will be inherited from MPOS installation), and uninstallation of MPOS. I could find any documentation on that.

The structure of SDK has changed and you will not see the updated Retail SDK in the dev VMs anymore. The Commerce SDK will be hosted in Github. Since you do not have any customizations at the moment, the process is comparatively simple. Download the sealed Store Commerce App installers from LCS, and Install and Activate it. Refer the MS learn document

    Hello Shafeeque

    Thanks for the reply.

    Have watched some TechTalk videos.
However, still not completelly sure, how to do the migration on Production. The videos show some installations on Dev VMs.
If I go to my Company's LCS page and click on "Manage" from Environment Features >> Commerce, I see the following:
"Commerce scale units" >> west-europe with version 10.0.24 published in April, 2022.

So, if I do the installations on my DEV VM, what do I have to do next for Production system?

    Thanks
