Do you get more details when you click "Show details"? Can you tell us if in the Dual Write settings for this entity it is allowed to update information from both applications?

Let's troubleshoot the error you're encountering when creating a customer group from CE and syncing it to D365FO using Dual Write.

    Understanding the Error:

    • The error message "Dual Write core application error-Error reading JObject from JsonReader. Path '', line 0, position 0" indicates an issue in processing the JSON data that Dual Write is trying to exchange between CE and FO.
    • The path, line, and position details being 0 suggest the error is likely at the very beginning of the JSON data, possibly indicating malformed or empty JSON.

    Possible Causes & Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Data Issue in CE:

      • The customer group data you're creating in CE might not be formatted correctly or might have missing mandatory fields that are required for the Dual Write mapping to FO.
      • Check: Review the customer group data you're creating in CE. Ensure all required fields are filled in and the data types match what's expected in the Dual Write mapping.
    2. Dual Write Mapping Issue:

      • The Dual Write mapping between the CE customer group entity and the FO customer group table might have an error or might not be handling certain data scenarios correctly.
      • Check: Go to the Dual Write setup in D365FO and carefully review the mapping for the customer group entities. Ensure all field mappings are correct and that any transformations or value mappings are working as intended.
    3. Customization or Extension Conflicts:

      • If you have any customizations or extensions in CE or FO that affect the customer group entities or the Dual Write process, they might be interfering and causing the error.
      • Check: If possible, temporarily disable any customizations or extensions related to customer groups or Dual Write and see if the issue persists. If the issue is resolved, you'll need to review your customizations/extensions to identify the conflict.
    4. Data Sync Timing or Conflicts:

      • There might be timing issues or conflicts in the data synchronization process, especially if you're making changes in both CE and FO simultaneously.
      • Check: Try creating the customer group in CE and waiting a few moments before checking in FO. Also, avoid making changes to the same customer group data in both systems concurrently.
    5. System or Environment Issues:

      • In some cases, the error could be due to temporary system glitches, network issues, or problems in the Dual Write environment itself.
      • Check: If you've ruled out the other possibilities, try restarting the Dual Write service or checking with your system administrator for any known issues in the environment.

    Hi,

On the second screenshot you shared, there is an option to download a log file. Please download it and check the details for possible more information and the clue to the error.

    Hello,

I have this same issue, wondering if you have found a solution?

This is how my table mapping is set up (default setup):

I have tried a few things (removing all fields but ID and description, playing with the direction, entering data into different fields vs. leaving them blank) but nothing has changed.

    Thanks!
