How to maintain a hierarchical structure (Account > Division > Department > Section)?

Hi CRM gurus,

This must be simple, but I reckon I'm missing a simple configuration.

I have an Account which has Divisions. The Divisions have Departments and these Departments have Sections. I have created the relationship between the Account and Division, so I can view all Divisions for an Account.

There is a relationship between the Division and Department, but I can view all Departments entered in the system. I need to only view the Departments of the Divisions of an Account. Ditto for when I create Sections, I need to view Sections of Departments of Divisions of an Account. I expected the Account and Division relationship to be maintained when relating Division and Department.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,

Dominic.

    Hi Dominic,

I assume you have three lookups on Account i.e. Division Department section and you want to filter departments based on Division and same for sections.

There is one OOB feature to filter dependent lookups.

    Refer this.. www.marksgroup.net/.../

    Hi Ketan,

Thanks for your response. I did already use the same OOB feature for the Accounts and Division dependent lookups. I figured out that I didn't have the relationship set up between Section and Account. I had only linked the Section to the Division. All good and working now.

    Thanks once again.

    Kind Regards,

    Dominic.
