Error message when adding contacts to Marketing List in CRM 2013.

I'm trying to add contacts to existing marketing lists in CRM 2013. When I'm viewing the contact page and I click the "Add to marketing list" button at the top, nothing happens. When I go through the drop down menu to view the lists they are on and go through the process of adding them to a new one that way, I get an " an error has occurred. Please return to the home page and try again" error message, even after doing what it says. However, I can add contacts to a marketing list through the marketing list itself and managing the members. I've been told this could be a bug. How do I fix it?

    Hi Kaitlin,

I have tried the actions you described in a Vanilla organization (the state of a fresh created organization) and there are no error or issues which would indicate that the problem is not a product bug but is present on your system only possibly due to a customization.

As the error you are receiving is generic the only way to troubleshoot the issue would be gather Verbose Server Traces (Option 1 / Option 2 ) to see what is the real error behind the error you are seeing in the user interface.

Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities

    Hi Kaitlin,

Are you able to find the fix for this yet? I got the same issue and able to find a workaround for this.

Although it works fine in Vanilla Organization with current customization, this is the issue with CRM 2013(Product Bug). As soon as you remove Case Subgrid (located in 3rd column of Contact Vanila form), it will start throwing error in Vanila Organization as well. Somehow there is dependency on Case subgrid to get this functionality to work. As soon as i added case subgrid on the form, this functionality started working again on all the forms. no need to mention taht you may wanna hide Case subgrid if not required.

    Hope it helps!

This seems to have worked. Thank you so much!

This does not seem to work for CRM online. I appreciate the answer though. The problem has been fixed by other means.
