Start and end date for project module

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to enter an end date for my tasks, but I don’t see an option for it. When creating a new task, I’d expect to enter both a start date and an end date. However, the system seems to treat the planning date as both. So, How can I have a task duration (Planning Phase), similar to other standard project management applications, during the planning phase?

Thanks in advance!

    The system works as follows:
    • On the Project Planning Lines page, you enter tasks, each of which must have a Planning Date or Planned Delivery Date. However, you cannot specify start and end dates for tasks here. If you needed an end date, or duration, you can add a custom field in this page. Or you can also look at some of the popular add-ons for the project module.
    • On the Project Card, in the Tasks FastTab, the Project Task Start Date and End Date are automatically calculated from the Project Planning Lines. The Start Date corresponds to the earliest Planning Line date, and the End Date corresponds to the latest Planning Line date.
    • In the Duration FastTab of the Project Card, you can also manually specify the Starting Date and Ending Date for the entire project.

Hi, If you only have one Job Planning Line, they are always the same. One of them takes the minimum date, and the other takes the maximum.
    Start Date:
    End Date:

So if there are two Job Planning Lines with different dates, they will be different.

    Thanks.

This is a great place for a customization, because the way the base system calculates the End Date is very frustrating.  If I have a Project Planning Line for 40 hours and the Start and End Date are the same, the End Date doesn't provide any purpose.

How sophisticated you get with your customization is up to you.  You could calculate an 8-hour workday and set the End Date that way.  Or you could look at the actual Resource assigned and calculate an End Date based on their capacity.

Sorry there isn't a quick solution.
