Greetings - I am looking for a bolt on mfg scheduling/capacity planning product. I want a graphical interface, finitie scheduling and automated rescheduling features/software.

Core GP functionality is not cutting it.

Has anyone in our community implemented ISV solutions?

Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

    Hi,

I'm interested in where standard GP is not cutting it with scheduling / capacity planning. I'm reviewing Manufacturing for a client with plants worldwide producing a number of different products / different manufacturing processes.

I know this doesn't answer your question...but if you are looking for additional software, it means you are using maufacturing!!!...and any user based information / expriences you can provide would be very much appreciated.

    Best regards,

You may want to take a look at this. It's a couple of years ago since I was working on this and we never actually go to the install of this product but it may be what you are looking for and as I understand it it directly integrates with Navision. The only small disadvantage is that the company is in Spain.

Bron, what's the manufacturing environment?  Discreet? Job Shop? Process?  Formulaic?  The type of manufacturing will determine which ISV product is best.

    Frank,

Do you have any recommendations for a job shop?

For clarification.............GP is a infinite scheduling software - which means users can cut and schedule unlimited mfg orders for all work centers...........the CRP module will show over scheduled conditions but it doesn't recommend or easily re-schedule MO's. In today's environment, clients want a graphical drag and drop type interface. Users also typically want finite scheduling systems where users are not allowed to overschedule a resource.........so if I have a rush order - I drop in the rush order and the system 'reschedules' the existing orders...........some systems also have 'what if' functionality - which is when the users says 'What if I place this manufacturing order?' What effect on my existing schedule?

Preactor was one of the first finite scheduling systems to 'build' a bridge between it's software and Great Plains Manufacturing Order Processing. It's very graphical............drag drop etc.........has 2 or 3 product selections.......etc..

Bron, I misread your original post.  Realized when I saw 'Preactor' in your second post.  Christian, are you looking for mfg software or scheduling software?
