Is it possible to to retrieve entity record in CRM using JavaScript?

Hello,

Suppose I have an entity called Contact and a field called name in Contact. I want to use JavaScript to retrieve and display name in each record on an external webpage.

Can anyone show me how this can be done?

Hi Heimmu,

You can do this by using dynamics crm webapi.

What type of web page are you talking about?

You can take a look at the following api library from David Yack:

github.com/.../Xrm.Tools.CRMWebAPI

Hi Heimmu,

You need to wrie custom login in your external webpage to connect to CRM and retrieve the required details (in this case name) and then display it on your web page.

As suggested above you can take a look at the helper WEBAPI library.

You need to connect crm in your web app project using XrmTooling.Connector and start accessing crm data to your webpage. You can refer the below video tutorials how to connect crm to custom web form.
