dear all

i am using the existing field (Originating Lead) on opportunity entity, now, what is displayed in this lookupfield when user drops it down is the Contact Name of the lead, so in my case, some of the leads have no contacts at all, so it shows blank records in the lookup field as in the image, my question, how to specify what to be displayed in the lookup field.

    Hi Ahmad,

You need to customize lookup view for that entity.. in above image you are specifying about lead, you need to customize lead entity lookup view.

Generally first 3 columns from lookup view will be shown.

Here is more details information on lookup view'

you can achieve this by applying custom filters on lookup view.

You need to specify different views for different entity using JavaScript code.

    Here are some useful information

    hope this will help..

Hi, can you tell me why i cant remove the field"Name" from a lead-lookup view?

this field is representing the "fullname" field on lead and in my case it is not filled.

now this i do have a lookup field on lead, this lookup field is using a lookup-view that has topic and name, and when selection happens, the value of the lookup field is "No Name", and that is because this field is not filed in my case, how to make topic appear instead of name, knowing that i could not remove the Name field.

    please check the following images

    Dear Ahmad,

You can't remove Name field from lookup view.

As far as I know there should be name and I'd field by default for every lookup to show the selected value and you can't change this behaviour untill and unless you fill the name value with topic. So there is only one chances that you need to fill the name field by topic at the time of creation so that the topic value will be showed in name column and selected lookup.

Lookup view is nothing but it's concatenate the columns when you click on search icon of lookup.

    Hope this helps.
