I am not 100% confident in this, but every time I have looked into this I believe they show up in alphabetical order according to Department.Code. Try updating this and see if it accomplishes what you are looking for!
I would LOVE to know this as well.
As far as I can tell it sorts in in the ORDER you created the departments went first setting up POS - it does NOT match my daily paperwork and I'd love to be able to do the same thing!
Anyone ever figure this out?
From looking at the template, it looks like it prints out the contents of an array called "ReportDepartment", which seems to contain all departments sorted by their ID, which is the order of their creation. It's a really bad idea to try to change a department's ID in the database, so I think your only hope short of remaking all departments in alphabetical order would be to somehow do a sort within the xml receipt template. I've honestly never learned xml, so I have no idea if this is possible.
