Easy Duplicate Detection?

Just wondering if there is a way to "Easily" view all duplicates based on a duplicate detection? I'm not sure if it's something my organization has set or if it is the default way to view the duplicates but I can only see 12 records per page and that list may go on for pages upon pages. What I want to do is be able to maybe export the duplicate records and give them to the owners and have them decide which ones are crucial to their group and which can be merged to another group. Also based on this is, would it be possible to then merge the leads outside of the CRM somehow? I realize that this isn't a very realistic possibility but figured I would ask it anyways and see whats out there.

Thanks for your help!

    Hi..

No, You can only update the existing records , you cant delete through re-import. I believe if you have many duplicate records for a single record then you can export all the columns for duplicate records , correct the exported file and then delete all the records for that record  from CRM and then import the Excel file and create a new fresh record.

If you need more clarity on this please let me know. Thanks.

Ok, so if I'm understanding this correctly I should be able to export the data (check the "make available for re-import) that I want into an xml file, in this case it will be leads, and find out which ones are duplicates. Now based on that, if I were to delete some of the leads out of the xml file it's going to delete them from the system when I go to re-import?

    Hi..

I believe if you have many duplicate records for a single record then there is no need to run duplicate detection job. You can export all your data into an excel file and then you can correct it and re-import into CRM and can create new records, In that case you have to delete old records.

In case of merge , we can merge only two records at a time. Through duplicate detection job there is no way to export records.  Let me know if you need any more info..

    Thanks.

    RE: Easy Duplicate Detection?

Right, I guess I should have tried to explain my issue a little better. I know I am able to do the duplicate detection based on whatever entity I choose, that is easy, however, what is not easy in my opinion is being able to merge the duplicate records in an efficient manner. There are many, many duplicates in our system and I would like to able to see all the duplicates that come back in the duplicate detection with the rules that I have set and be able to export those somehow.

    RE: Easy Duplicate Detection?

    Hi..

You can easily view duplicates by running duplicate detection job based on rule that you have created for duplicate detection. I believe this is the easiest way to look into duplicates.

In CRM you can easily merge the records too. You may select the Master record and can select required field too. Once again it is very easy to merge record with in CRM.

If you need any more information then please let me know.  Thanks !
