Error Importing a Managed Solution

I have managed solution for Dynamics CRM 2013. When i import this solution in a new CRM environment  i get following error:

The import of the solution XYZ failed. The following components are missing in your system and are not included in the solution. Import the managed solutions that contain these components (Active) and then try importing this solution again.

I have made sure that all the dependencies of this solution are already installed on the new CRM.

What is this dependency "Active" and how can i resolve this issue, if I don't have access to the CRM organization which has produced this solution?

    Hi Absaar,

    1. Do you already have any Managed Solutions installed in your System?

    2. If yes, do you have any Security Roles available within the Managed Solution?

    3. If yes, then include that Security Roles to your Solution and then try importing it again, it may help you importing it successfully.

    I don't have solution installed, i am trying to install it. no security roles were added while generating the solution

    Hi Absaar,

    Are your saying that this is the First Managed Solution you are installing in a Vanilla environment. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    no this is not the first solution, all the prior dependencies of this solution have been installed already on the CRM, but when i import this it gives the above mentioned error.

    So you mean you do not have any Security Roles in your previous solution. I am asking this because I have seen some where in SDK Document that if there are Security Roles for previous Solution you need to add them to the solutions as well while importing.

    I have following in the solution.xml file

    <MissingDependency>

       <Required key="0" type="1" schemaName="new_survey" displayName="Survey" solution="Active" />

       I am not sure what this solution="Active" means?

    Absaar, there could be unmanaged customizations (Default solution) which is present in your Development environment and is absent in the target.

    Let me ask you few questions:

    1. Do you have access to the environment where the managed solution was created?

    2. Have you made sure that entity called "Survey" is present on the target environment?

    3. Do you have any field security profiles on the managed solution especially for the entity called survey?

    1- Yes will have access to the environment in sometime.

    2- Yes survey entity is present in the target environment.

    3- There are no security profiles.
