I am looking for a report that shows the last transaction date for an Item.....all items (20,000)
can anyone help?

If these are inventory items and keep history is marked you should be able to get that info from the item movement SmartList. As it's so many items I'd probably build a query against the IV30300 table directly, something like
select distinct itemnmbr, max(docdate) from IV30300 group by ITEMNMBR
