Mapping Item Cards to G/L Accounts

Good morning.

We use Item Cards at my organisation; is there a way that i can run a report that shows which G/L accounts are posted against when an Item Card is used?  I am currently looking at the "gen production posting group", which seems to suggest I have to look at each item card individually, rather than being able to run off a master list?

    Hi,

You can personalise pages in Business Central to show/hide/arrange fields in the page. You can do the same with the Items list page to add Gen Prod Posting Group field to see the values in the master list.

    Hi,

Use a configuration Package to Export Items to an Excel Spreadsheet. Using Excel spreadsheet you can sort the Items to have the "like" G/L Accounts together. Using the Gen. Product Posting Group (GPPG) List you can enter the GPPG Code in the field (column) and copy to all Items with same G/L Account.

Once all of the Items have the GPPG entered. Save the spreadsheet. Using the Configuration Package, import the Excel Spreadsheet to 365 BC.

I hope this helps. If you need help with this, there are several good YouTube videos on using Configuration packages.
