Rounding - Item Reclassification journal - Can't post because of posting date range authorization

Hi!

I have this situation at one of my client.
We had an issue with posting transactions not in the right period, so we configured the "Allow posting date from" in the User Setup for this user
Since that time that user have a hard time posting Item Reclassification journal, he has this message for some of the item only

When I look at the preview posting of the Item Reclass Journal that he can't post, I see that there are GL entry for rounding that try to post in the past (in a range of date that he is not allowed

Is there a solution for that except give him access to post in the past?
Do I need this rounding entry?
Is there a configuration that I can change?

Thanks!

Those are rounding entries which are created because of cost adjustments, please see the below article

Thanks for that reference, I now understand why this is happening!

Also, it mentionned how the posting date is calculated :

"For non-average costing methods: The posting date for these entries depends on two factors:
    • The original inventory increase document date.
    • The “Allow Posting From” field in the General Ledger Setup. Business Central uses whichever date is later. For example, if the original inventory increase occurred on January 1, 2024, but the “Allow Posting From” date is February 1, 2024, the system will post the rounding entry on February 1, 2024."
I've realize that the Allow posting date from in the General Ledger Setup was not setup properly.

    Thanks!

Yes, you are correct, the Allow Posting From in the General Ledger Setup Page needs to be updated.
