Copy Management Reporter Report

Does anyone know how to copy a report from one company to another? I am trying to run the Detailed PL report and since we arranged our entire structure in 2016, the new reporting structure only goes back to 2016. However, I need data back to 2013. I can run the the Detailed Report in the old company, but the lines are completely different. They are different as we re-named everything.

    Hi Dylan, do the Companies in MR have different Building Block Groups (you can check this by going to Company>Companies off the main MR Report Designer menu)? If so, you can export the report (and the related Row/Column/Tree) from one BBG and import it into the other BBG. From there, you can changes the Rows, Columns, etc. as needed.

    If the two Companies share the same BBG, then you can easily File>Save As on the Report, as well as the Row/Column/Tree, to create new copies of each that you can use for the second company.

    John,

    I do have the building block option.

    However, when I try to put in the report it doesn't allow me to as it has the same name.

    For example I am trying to copy the Detailed PL from Company 1 into Company 2. However, Company 2 already has a Detailed PL report. Microsoft Dynamics is giving me an error saying I need to replace the Detailed PL report in Company 2. There isn't an option to have a new one with a different name.

    If there is a way I can copy the Detailed PL from Company 1, but save it as a different name, then I can put it in Company 2, but unsure how to do that.

    Hi Dylan, easiest thing to do would be to rename the Report and the related Row/Column/Tree that already exists in Company 2.  Then you can export/import from Company 1 into Company 2 and not get prompted to over-write the existing data (which you just renamed).
