CRM for use in post-secondary education...

I am Director of Admissions at Southern California Seminary. Have a strong technology background including some dated database design skills in such tools as Access and FoxPro, but no experience with CRM, beyond that gained in the last few months.

I have implemented CRM strictly as a recruiting tool to this point, will be expanding to Marketing and likely Service in the near term.

I am very interested in any resources (books, eBooks, articles, videos or other expertise) others may have to offer on tailoring CRM for the education environment. You would be correct in assuming the Seminary does not have a significant budget for consulting in this area.

Below is a link to the Microsoft website which talks about using CRM in the Education sector. The page also has links to a few case studies which you might be interested in. Worth having a look

Also, reach out to your Microsoft Account Manager who might organize a demo for you.

    Hope this helps.

The education is the expensive procedure and the scholarship is only for the needy person. The financing yourself to educate is the hard task define in best online essay writing services reviews because of the narrow resources. The best way to minimize the burden of the education by getting the scholarship and secure the money for being waste.

    Hi Bill,

Reading your request, I think you are a technology aficionado working at an educational institution. So you get the Microsoft products free of charge or at low cost. Often techies take the cool new technology as starting point, then invent some user requirements to make use of this technology. Often this leads to solutions the users don't need.

As director you probably have a tight schedule, leaving you little time for your implementation project. Because you are an aficionado you probably will do this in your leisure time. To summarize: at the moment you don't have time nor budget. You have not thought about a business case, strategic business requirements, nor did you write down explicit user requirements or user stories. This is a bad starting point for an implementation project. Better is to think about the "what" and "why" questions first, and finally sort out the "how" questions.

However it is always good to learn. To expand your knowledge you could start studying the learning paths in Microsoft Learn:

    I wish you success,

    Kind regards,

    Thijs van der Klei
