Hello,

I am using On-premise 2015 version 7.0.1.129 and DB 7.0.0.3543, language = Hebrew

When i create a private chart, both for a custom entity and for incident entity, i can't share the chart with others. the share button just doesn't appear (unlike the assign, export chart and etc.. which does).

In activities for example i do have the ability to share.

Any idea?

LisaCRM-SMG In this case, I would suggest turning tracing on at the server level and examine the error details more closely. Most likely it's a related entity such as 'Product' or 'Contract'. Also check that you don't have any lookup columns in the View you're trying to share and if you do that you have the ability to 'Share' that entity.

Silly question: Are you clicking on the "Saved Views" tab to locate the Share button? I noticed they moved this from the main tab in a recent update/release.

Any update on this?

I am Sys Admin, but unable to share any chart or dashboard I create, after recently upgrading from 2015 -> 2016.

Error reads: you do not have Share permissions to any of the records you have selected.

I have been creating views, charts and dashboards for years and been fine. Only now after the upgrade do I get this error..

Did you ever find a resolution to this? I'm seeing this too where most entities are fine, but not Opportunity (CRM 2016). The "Share" option just isn't there.

I just encountered the same problem.

I made 2 personal charts.

1 on account, which I am able to share without any problems.

1 on contacts, that does not show the share button.

So.. I am uncertain on why this is.. Anyone found a solution for it?

Share is either off ("none") or on at "user" level in security roles for personal items such as views, charts and dashboards. You can't increase this beyond "user" in any role.

This means you can only share components you already own (or that have been shared with you and granting you the share permission that way). You can't take someone else's chart and share it to yourself, for example.

This does not prevent you sharing your charts with other users, it is all about which ones can you share, not who can you share with.

Is it possible the ribbon / command bar buttons have been customised to remove (hide) this button for some reason?

I am using system admin and sharing only with system admins.

It seems like the security role is set to share=personal and can't be modified (quarter of the circle) for every security role

If this is OOTB, then the appearance should be determined by the privilege in the applied roles. You can use privileges checker in XrmToolbox to verify, but maybe its a RTL CRM bug?
