With 2009 Dynamics upgrade, Bar Code Scanner is activated on product description, number of units, unit price, and grand total field. Hence, scanned bar code number is overriding existing field values. Does anyone know how to restrict above field values to text only or 0-10,000 maximum value as an example? So that when the bar code scanner was inadvently triggered on Grand Total field an error will occur.

    I had this same problem in RMS. The solution is t o limit the amount of cash tendered. In RMS you limit the amount  under the tender verification tab. Not sure where this is set in POS 2009.

    BTW, where did you purchase POS 2009? I could not find a partner that sells it.

    You could always setup your scanner using an opos driver, or use the internal KeyboardWedge or USB OPOS Scanner driver.  This will restrict entries and also allow you to recall transactions by scanning the barcode at the bottom of a receipt.
