Asyncoperation table in file storage dataverse

If the AsyncOperation table is too large in the File section, this typically indicates that there are records in a Waiting or Postponed state. These records store all the necessary data required to process the corresponding AsyncJob.

To reduce the size of this table, you can check the following:

  1. Go to Advanced Settings  Settings  System Jobs.
  2. In the Suspended System Jobs view, look for records with the status Postpone until 9999.
  3. These records can be canceled and then deleted.

    Hello,

When the AsyncOperation table becomes excessively large—particularly in the File section—it is often due to the accumulation of records in a Waiting or Postponed state. These records typically store all the necessary data required to process the corresponding AsyncJob, and if not managed, can significantly impact system performance.

    Recommended Actions:

    1. Review System Jobs
Navigate to Advanced Settings → Settings → System Jobs, and switch to the Suspended System Jobs view. Look for entries with the status Postpone Until 9999—these are often safe to cancel and delete.

    2. Cancel and Delete Unnecessary Records
Identify and cancel jobs that are no longer needed, then proceed to delete them. This can be done manually or via a bulk deletion job.

    3. Automate Cleanup
Consider setting up a recurring bulk deletion job to automatically remove old or suspended async operations. This helps maintain the table size over time.

    4. Monitor Table Growth
Regularly monitor the size of the AsyncOperationBase table using SQL or system diagnostics to ensure it remains within acceptable limits.

    5. Optimize Indexes and Maintenance
Ensure that the database has a proper maintenance plan in place, including index optimization and statistics updates, to support performance.

By implementing these practices, you can effectively manage the size of the AsyncOperation table and maintain system stability.

If this resolves your issue, please consider marking the response as accepted so it may assist others encountering the same situation.

    Best regards.

    Hi Helio,

Are you sure you can just delete these records? What process are creating these records with a date in the future?
