FRx Currency Translation - Error 8512

ReportReport

I have consolidated financial Statements in US Dollars with one company that has a functional currency of CNY.  I have data back to September of 2007.  I am using GP 10.0 and FRx 6.7 Service Pack 10 and can get all of my current reports to run properly.  I am using the DAX Currency Translation module and am pretty sure I am doing it all right.  I have all my historic rates and monthly rates and all my reports work for 2008 and 2009, but now I just tried to run 2007, just the CNY company Translated into USD and I get "Error 8512  An error has occured while computing the translated amount."  If I run the report as of 1/31/2008 it is fine.  If I run 12/31/2007 and back, I get this error.  Searching customersource I see one valuable topic coming back but references Axapta and saying it is a known bug and that it is fixed with Service Pack 6 (I have 10).  I also don't have the 300 rows it calls for (about 130 rows for me).  Has anyone seen this?

    Hello!

Did you ever figure out what the problem was 2007?

I just ran into this.  I was able to resolve this by un-checking the:

Use (Sum Of Rates/Number of Rates Entered * Balance) for monthly average calculations.

in the report catalog currency translation tab.

    Hello,

I get the same error and can't find the resolution. All companies are set up properly. What could be causing it?

    Thank you,

    OV

    KDay,

My company is bringing a new product to market that both consolidates multiple currencies AND provides a PivotGrid for analysis.  Would you be interested in being a beta client?  It will have a 30-day free trial, and should take about 2-4 hours to setup.

If you're curious, please go to www.100wattsolutions.com.

I normally just try to provide help on this forum, but since you are specifically addressing issues which my product is designed to work with, I thought we might have common cause.  I apologize if this seems like "shameless marketing".

    Thanks for you time.

    Rick

Thanks, that stuff is all correct.  The reports run for 2008 and 2009 but for some reason, I get this error on anything in 2007.  The history goes back to only September 2007.  While it is not a show stopper, I worry that the current reports translated might be off if it can't calculate this old information.  It came about when I was trying to look back and see where the discrepency comes from for my translation adjustment rounding row; it looks a little high.  But with the historic rates (CCHIST), I have found that any report will not run if any historic transaction is off by even a penny, so that fact that it runs says that something is right.  I think it does have to do with the CCSPOT but I do have all the rates in.   I even went as far as putting rates in prior to Sept 2007 but that didn't help.  Anyway, if someone has seen this, please comment.

    Hi, as a start....

Launch FRx and click on Company >> Information.

Verify that the Rates Database path for all your companies is correct.

    See if this helps.

    Best regards,
