Copy customers by using shared number sequences

Hi all,

I am looking into using this feature.
My doubt is around data migration, would it be possible to use this feature with data migration and automatically associate customers in different legal entites with the same Customer account ID (copy them).
Is this only possible if I use manual number sequence? If I use automatically assigned number sequence, does it mean I will have to manually copy customer records one by one in a another legal entity?

Looking forward to some help on this doubt,

I have the same question (0)

    Hy,
how do you like to use "Copy customers"?
There is a feature called "cross company data sharing", which just copies the complete data entity (e.g. customers and predepending entities) to a specific legal entity
    or
do you just want to use "Copy customer" within the Custtable Form?
Anyway for the data migration it depends whether you want to create new Account ID's or may be you want to migrate existing Account ID's.
For the first option create automatic number sequence, for the second set number sequence to manual for the migration, after the migration set to automatic number sequence for new.
For cross company data sharing the Account ID has to be the same in all legal entities so you need to use same shared number sequence in all legal entities.

    Hope this helps.

    Herzliche Grüße / kind regards,

    Hello Andreas,

I very much appreciate your quick reply.
The idea is to have some customers, that appear in more legal entites share Customer account ID, so I from what I understand cross company data sharing would not do the job as I dont want to share all the records.
Copy customers by using shared number sequences is the most suitable feature I could find.

So you are suggesting me to set the number sequence to Manual when migrating customers to a new legal entity (containing some duplicates too, in terms of account ID) and then switch back to automatic once I am done?
I have tried testing data import with shared number sequence but automatic, and it didnt work.
However your proposed solution is worth a test.

    Kind regards,
