Business Portal Requisition Mgmt can't approve requisition

Hi,

We have a BP user that is a Requisition Approver.  When the Requisition Creator created a request and submitted the request the Requisition Approver doesn't see the request to approve it.  The Requisition Approver did receive an email notification saying they have a request to approve, so that part is working fine.  The creator sees the request is pending approval from the Requistion approver.  I have double checked to make sure the Requisition Approver is setup correctly in the heirarchy, and someone setup just like this person is able to see their approval requests.  I have not seen this before.  Can anyone help?

    Hey Jennifer,

    I have a few questions to help better understand the scenario.

    • What version of GP, BP, and SharePoint?
    • Is this a new user or existing user? 
    • Has any purchase request ever worked for this approver?
    • How many companies do you have in your environment?  I assume your user is logged into the correct one if there is more than one.
    • Is this purchase request being routed to a user or a role? 
    • Can other users approve the purchase request?

    Thanks for helping me out.

    •  GP 10.0, BP 5.1 and SharePoint 3.0
    • This is a new user (although everyone is a new user as we just setup up BP)
    • No requests have worked for the approver yet
    • Only 1 company, and yes he was logged into the correct company
    • Purchase request is being routed to a user not a role
    • Yes, other people can approve the purchase request

    Thanks for the info.  

    • I don't think GP 10.0, BP 5.1, and SharePoint 3.0 are a valid combination.   Could you check again?
    • When users create the purchase request and submit it, who does it show as "Assigned To"?
    • If you go to Administration > Requestion Management > Users, does your approver have an approval limit?
    • In company settings, do you have "Bypass Approvers" checked?  I assume yes since you said others can approve the purchase request.  What happens if you uncheck this?  Does the approver then see the request?

    I appreciate the help!

    • BP 3.0 - sorry about that
    • The user who created the requisition shows it assigned to the approver who can't see the requisition
    • Yes, the approver does have a limit of $10K, and the request is under his limit so he should see it
    • In the company settings the "Bypass Approvers" isn't checked.  When you asked if others can approve the purchase request earlier.  I had the creator change the request to go to someone else to approve, and that person who they changed it to could see the requisition to approve.

    Is the approver with issues assigned to the Requisition Approver role?  I may be running out of suggestions here...  Your next best bet may be calling support.

    Yes, the approver is assigned to the Requisition Approver role.  I do appreciate your help, and if you think of anything else let me know.  I will reach out to support for help.

    Rob,

    It turns out the approver was clicking a Business Portal link from within the email notification.  We had added that link to the notification.  This is when he doesn't see the requisitions.  When he goes through the site directly from the internet he can see the requisitions.  Not sure if that is a setting on his computer oe what, but at least he can see the requisitions to approve.  Thanks again for your help and ideas!
