Hi,

I am interested in certification Exam MB2-866: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Customization and Configuration.

Is it mandatory to attend the following course 80294B prior to writing the exam?

Please also advise good resources and books for preparation.

It isn't required - you can just register and take the exam through your local test center.

CRM MVP Neil Benson has authored a certification guide: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Customization & Configuration (MB2-866) Certification Guide

If you are a Microsoft partner and have access to PartnerSource there is some material available there as well.

No its not mandatory, I just passed it last Thursday.

There are a lot of practice materials on the web you can just Google around for them.

We are Microsoft partners for SharePoint and Office 365. I'm not sure if I can access the material for CRM.

Hi Saima. As everyone else has said - no it isn't mandatory. However, the course is very relevant (I speak as an MCT here) and all of the content of the course is referenced in the exam. Resources like Neil Bensons book are also very helpful but make sure you check out the exam guide as follows: www.microsoft.com/.../exam.aspx.
