Intercompany: item with no stock mirrored with stocked item

Hello,

Some companies manage packaging (ex: pallets) as stocked items, other just expense them.

The item type ("item" or "service") comes from the product and can't be adjusted locally on the released product.

We're considering setting up an "item type" with an item model group with "stocked item = no".

Any feedback about this solution?

    Hello Alexandra,

    Non-stocked Item Model Group should do the trick. The product will be expensed on receipt (just like the service item), But you wont be able to use it in BOMs.  Don't forget to setup the Item Group to hit the correct GL for "Purchase expenditure for expense".

    You can easily set it up and test it.
