I'm looking to set up parent/child accounts so that if a cash receipt was posted on the parent account, the payment could be applied to any of the open invoices on the child account(s). Is this possible?

Thank you for posting on the Forum.
In standard functionality, the feature is managed through the Invoicing Table - Customer field.
With this field, the Customer ID in the Invoicing Tab will accumulate the customer ledger entries and A/R balance - in other words this is the Bill-To Customer. The expectation is that payments will then come from the Invoicing customer and be applied to the billings for that customer through this field.
The "Sell-To" Customer, which in this case is the 01121212 Customer, will tracked on the Posted Sales Invoice historical document. However, the actually Customer Ledger Entries and Find Entries will be for the Invoiced Customer.
