obtaining RegardingObjectID details from ActivityPointer (Appointment), via web API query

I was hoping that I can obtain RegardingObjectID from ActivityPointer in a similar way in which i use the Header "odata.include-annotations" to get extra information on an ActivityParty.

because a RegardingObject can be one of many type of entities, it would make the task of reporiting on the data many times easier. 

Is this possible?

    You can get the regarding object type and display name under the fields:

    _regardingobjectid_value@Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.associatednavigationproperty

    _regardingobjectid_value@Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.lookuplogicalname

    _regardingobjectid_value@OData.Community.Display.V1.FormattedValue

    If you need more information than this - then you'll need to expand the specific entity relationship - e.g. $expand=regardingobjectid_incident($select=_accountid_value)
